In this test we had to show mastery of our CAD skills. CAD stands for computer aided design, we were using the program Floor Plan Creator. For the test we had to recreate a floor plan that was assigned to us.
This assignment addresses informational skills. The entire test was using a CAD program and we had to use it effectively to get an A+.
I am most proud of my quick application of the material. I felt like I really knew what to do for each step.
I improved my information skills with the new understanding that learning Floor Plan Creator has given me. It’s given me the experience of using a program that is used by actual engineers in this field.
The most difficult part of this task was understanding the floor plan that he had given us. All of the objects are symbols and some are easier to understand than others.
If I were to redo the assignment the only thing that I would do differently would be my speed. Having already done it once I would be much faster the second time around.
This assignment related to other CAD programs that I had learned in the past. It’s improved my knowledge of basic computer thinking and code theory.
I can apply this knowledge to any other CAD programs that I will need to learn. A lot of the thinking with these programs is very similar. The more you know about one of them the more you can apply that knowledge to a new CAD program.
